23 Skidoo is a variation of Accordion invented by Michael Keller, in which there are no slides (moving a pile one space to the left), but you can leap two or three spaces. If you end up with two piles, that's a win. "23 Skidoo" is such a great name for this game!
I modified my Accordion solver to play 23 Skidoo, as well as some variations with longer leap sizes. Like Accordion, this game has a very high win rate:
Leap Sizes | Games Won | Win Rate % | |
---|---|---|---|
2 | 3 | 6,000,000 | 100 |
3 | 4 | 6,000,000 | 100 |
4 | 5 | 6,000,000 | 100 |
Within Michael Keller's article Icelandic Oratorios, or How I learned to play (the) Accordion, he discusses how this variation of Accordion requires some different strategies than what you might be accustomed to for Accordion.
